Mel smiled at Valeia as she came down the aisle. She looked so beautiful and so happy. D'BrooNi decided to flash back through all the weddings it had been present at in all their hosts. Only Leila's seemed remotely close to this one.
She felt Ian's eyes from the seats behind and caught his grin. It was a lovely room, the flowers were amazing. Heather and Valeia had certainly done a lot of preparation for this and so quickly too.
Next to her K'Nara fidgeted, her dress swinging slightly. The Klingons face was set and Mel figured that unless they could do some fast talking like they had on the heels issue, it would take copius amounts of alcohol at the reception to convince the warrior to smile for pictures afterwards.
However she changed her mind as she caught a glimspe of Dukath in the audience and the fact Marcus was here, they could always order the Klingon too. She doubted it would go down well though.
Moving her head back, she focused her eyes on Brahms who cleared his throat nervously.

Naois discovered his was holding his breath when his fiancée walked down the isle; he exhaled when someone prodded him between the ribs. He shot Donolly an annoyed look, before settling his gaze on Valeia once more.
The Vulcan took a step forward and met her at the altar, holding out his hand towards her. ~you look amazing~ he quietly told her, noting how radiant she looked.
Behind him, his parents shared a knowing look, quietly holding hands in the human fashion, a look of pride on their faces. Either knew that in Valeia, their son had found his soulmate, and they had to acknowledge that they had indeed been right not to bond him at age seven, when they had the chance to do so.
He felt her hand slip into his and he held onto it for dear life, briefly fearing she might bolt. His mind brushed against hers, sharing her nervosity but her love as well. Then he turned, watching Admiral Brahms, nodding that they were ready. Time went so fast now, he was barely listening to the speech Brahms, joined by O'shasserra, delivered.
He had to be nudged again when it was time for their vows to be exchanged. This time, he listened with more attention. "I do," he finally answered, then positively smiled when Valeia echoed that answer. Anxiously, he lifted the veil from her face when Brahms told him he could at last kiss the bridge.
Leaning in, his lips brushed against hers as he braced her by placing a hand against the small of her back. Their passionate kiss seemed to last forever and after a long time they finally broke apart. ~married at last, in every legal way possible~ Naois thought happily, drawing his wife closer to him, never wanting to let her go. On the front row, he spotted the tears in his otherwise stoic mother's eyes, and even his father looked as though he had been crying.
Then his eyes settled on Heather and he bowed slightly towards her, to acknowledge her presence and her permission to marry Valeia. Finally, he turned back to the woman he loved and waited.

OOC: little bit of a back post to catch up
Quinn enjoyed the evening with Mel, Brooks and Sharon, until he overheard Sharon and Mel chatting about weddings. Not yet knowing about Naios and Valeia, Quinns mind went into overdrive, trying to work out wether Sharon misheard something he had said. For the rest of the evening, Quinn was distant from Sharon and the others noticed it. Later, Sharon left rater disgruntledly, and Mel turned on Quinn.
"What on Earth are you doing? Sharon is crazy over you and you randomly start ignoring her?" Mel said to him.
"Crazy enough to start discussing Weddings?" Quinn replied.
Mel rolled her eyes. "Oh Quinn, we were talking about Valeias wedding." Quinns face dropped in shock over what he had just done and legged it out of Mels quarters, barely pausing to say goodybye. Quinn practically flew down the corridors, and the turbolift just would not move fast enough for him, when he eventually got to Sharons, she didnt respond to his banging on the door. Hoping that she had merely fallen asleep and wasnt ignoring him, Quinn wrote a note for her.
"Meet me for lunch, I'm an idiot."
Luckily for Quinn, Sharon did turn up. He explained to her his massive mistake.
"Quinn you are a special person but please don't pull that on me again, I have a brother who would want to talk to you if you pull that again but I care about you." Sharon said.
They spent much of the rest of the day together, only when Sharon needed to depart for the girls night out did they seperate.
Quinn didnt see much of Sharon until the wedding, where if it wasnt for Valeia, he couldve sworn she was the most beautiful woman in the room. The wedding itself was the first Quinn had been to, with Aasimar having quite a different ritual, but was a wonderful experience, with everyone dressed up to the occaision. The main suprise of the day was K'Nara, who like Mel, the other bridesmaid, was wearing a pink dress with flowers in her hair and wearing heels.

Her focus was so fixed on Naois that she was barely aware of anyone else in the room. “You look amazing,” his voice complimented quietly in her mind, causing her expression to light up even further. Valeia sensed her fiancé’s nervousness, as well as his brief fear that she might bolt, which caused her to try and gently soothe his worries with thoughts of just how much she loved him. The bride barely heard the speech given by the two Admiral’s either, her mind wrapping itself around his instead, her entire focus on her groom, the love and light of her life.
When the exchange of vows began, Valeia too forced her attention to shift slightly and reluctantly away from her fiancé and onto the words. They already belonged to each other, but they also shared the desire to be legally married, and it would hardly do to not pay attention now. At Naois’ ‘I do’, the bride’s heart soared with happiness, her eyes shinning with love as she waited for her chance to repeat her vow to him. When the time came, her spoken words echoed in both of their minds.
After what felt like an eternity, Naois was finally granted permission to kiss the bride, and as soon as the veil was lifted clear, the bride leaned forward to meet him halfway, her arms encircling his neck and she kissed him with as much love and passion as she could manage to communicate. As they finally broke apart, her new husband pulled her to him, holding her close as she rested her head on his chest. To her, it was as if they were the only two people in the entire universe.
As they finally broke apart once more, Valeia leaned in to give him a quick kiss before finally looking around at all the people. Her new mother-in-law was crying, and her father-in-law looked a bit teary eyed himself. Heather was openly sobbing, something that Valeia had never seen before, and it seemed that a lot of people were sniffling and wiping tears from their eyes as well, even some the bride had never seen before. It was as if everyone could feel what they were feeling.
Glancing happily at her husband, the doctor found herself wanting to kiss him again already and decided that since it was their wedding she would do exactly that. So wrapping her arms back around his neck again, the bride went up on tip toes to pull the groom into another long, deep kiss, feeling like the luckiest women anywhere.

"Bah!" he thought. "These ceremonies are so useless. And to think that Commander K'nara Corval was actually dancing and singing at that party from what I understand. At least I could have trusted her to maintain some sort of decorum that was not up to the...all too human standards that were building held here. This is troublesome. Most troublesome."
Sighing softly, he had hoped that his partner for the evening was going to calm down and begin acting far more...Klingon. If he were only back on Kzin...this would be replace with police work! Yes, these people would be suspects for violating mating laws. Tear gas could easily be deployed, considering that it was not an energy weapon that the Federation was...
He exhaled to try to keep himself from thinking of detective tactics. This was supposed to be an evening for love, wasn't it? Such a strange way to express it without combat and bloodshed, but an evening of love never the less.
Maybe it would in fact be best to adapt fully to these new ways, regardless. It would certainly ease things, even if his own culture did not ever get fully melded. At least for the evening anyways, he felt as though he should at least attempt to remain calm. As difficult as that was when his aggressive tendencies were still heightened from the earlier encounter with the Vulcan.

"It gives me great pleasure ..." Brahms said, looking first at Valiea, then Naois, and finally at the assembled family friends and guests, "To present .. Mr and Mrs Naois Mercy." Glancing happily at her husband, the doctor found herself wanting to kiss him again already and decided that since it was their wedding she would do exactly that. So wrapping her arms back around his neck again, the bride went up on tip toes to pull the groom into another long, deep kiss, feeling like the luckiest women anywhere ... The cheers were almost deafening .. Not something you would normally hear in an 'official' place of worship, but then these were far from 'normal' times .. Brahms leaned forward to speak to the newly-married couple. "Congratulations Naois .. Valeia." "Thank you Admiral .. Thank you for conducting the ceremony." Valeia managed once she let Naois go, or at least eased her grip for a few seconds .. Marcus grinned, wondering what Captain Mercy's Vulcan temperament was making of all the outward affection, but he seemed to be coping with it as only a Vulcan could .. The Couple turned to face their family, then as the lute, this time accompanied by a quiet ringing of Vulcan bells began, they walked the length of the room, receiving smiles and words of congratulation from the assembled guests ... Brahms heaved a sigh of relief. One which Polly couldn't fail to notice. "The strains of Command Marcus ?" she said, a smile on her face .. "As pleasing as it was .. I think i may have to 'volunteer' you for the job next time." he replied, feigning wiping sweat from his brow .. "Well .. You managed admirably." she replied, grinning at her turn of phrase as the three Admirals stepped forward, to follow everyone into the other room .......... < tag: ALL > ..

Naois wrapped his arm around her waist and quietly guided her out of the room. As tradition called for, the moment they reached their new joint quarters on starbase, Naois lifted her up in his arms and dutifully carried her across the threshold, before letting her down.
They had a few minutes to themselves before they had to attend the reception and party in honour of their wedding. It was one tradition the Vulcan counselor didn't care much for; he'd rather spend some quality time with his new wife and he sensed she would rather do the same.
He turned to her, lifting her face up to him before quietly kissing her again, deeper this time. He felt his heart racing, thumping like mad against his side. It was fortunate that he wasn't entering his first Time yet, otherwise he would've ripped her dress off her body then and there. Now, he knew he just had to wait and be patient. But he knew she could sense his feelings as keenly as he felt them.
"We should go back," he whispered, his voice rasping as he tried to control it. "I just wanted to show you our new home. Do you like it?"
Later, still dressed in their wedding attire, the newlyweds entered the great hall on Resurrection, holding hands. Valeia was smiling while Naois did his best to keep on a neutral expression as his Vulcan training required of him. He noticed his mother was doing a poorer job than he was, which made him relax a little.
He shook his head when a waiter offered him a glass of synthale, accepting a glass of water instead. As Valeia walked off to mingle, Naois walked up to K'Nara. "You look uncomfortable commander," he offered, "surely you would be more comfortable in a Klingon outfit?"

“I would be more comfortable scraping my brains out with a berosian spoon. What gave it away Counsellor?” K’Nara snapped at the groom.
Before even allowing the Vulcanoid to respond, she continued her rant. “I ask you . . . I ask you where one can hide weapons in this attire. Why would anyone feel the need to wear shoes . . . . Shoes,” she pulled her foot out of one, kicking it forward towards him, “Shoes that you have to balance on and pinch your feet? And this,” she grabbed the piled up curls on the top of her head studded with flowers as Naois’s eyes flew to the shoe and back to her face before cautiously took a step back from her, “What is the point of this?”
Behind them a deep voice said something in Klingonese causing K’Nara to screw up her face and Naois to feel an intense wave of irritation from her.
Faster than Naois had ever seen the Klingon move, K’Nara had whipped the other shoe off and was moving towards her father coming out with a rapid stream of Klingonese. The high heeled shoe was raised and being jabbed in the old Klingons direction dangerously. She stopped about 5 inches distance from the old warrior, eyes flashing as she used her free hand to let her hair loose, so it looked normal once more and slower this time, but louder informed him of something Naois could not understand before throwing the shoe roughly at his chest and storming away.
The head of the house of Corval looked incredibly flustered. “Come,” he said after a long thoughtful moment to Naois. “I am currently in need of a strong drink. I also feel perhaps we should dispose of these before she returns.”

Peter watched it all from a slight distance away, though he was ready to step in should that become necessary. He saw K'Nara waggle the heel of her shoe dangerously close to the groom's face, but he also noted the groom was quite capable of handling himself. After all, he'd been in worse situations than dealing with an angry first officer.
To his surprise, she raced up to her father and actually tossed the shoe at him, which just bounced off the armour on his chest. He exchanged a surprised glance with Naois, then shrugged. "I will go after her," he informed the old Klingon, "you take care of him. And see that he behaves himself?"
The Vulcan security chief smiled briefly at his Vulcan friend, then winked at his new wife before going after K'Nara. He passed Wolf and Quinn on his way out and briefly explained where he was going, before continuing.
"Commander, a word please?" he called after the retreating Klingon. "I find your restraint commendable, but surely a party is not the place to throw a tantrum like this? I suggest you get changed into something more comfortable to your stature and return to the party. Your place is there, alongside admiral Brahms."
He sighed in annoyance. "These are trying times for this sector and everyone needs time off. A wedding is just the place to unwind and as security chief, it is my belief that if you do not return to the party, you might actually end up being a security risk to the crew of the Phoenix as well as Resurrection. We all need a break commander, and now we have the chance."

Sharon's headache had finally gone before the time for the ceremony came, Sharon put on the bridesmaid's dress, with its festive colors, and heels, she did her hair and put flowers in it. She soon left and headed to where she would be meeting with the others, K'Nara looked fit to be tied all dressed up and uncomfortable in heels. They got their flowers and soon were escorted to the front
Sharon looked around for Quinn and saw him looking her way with a smile on his face, she smiled back at him, it wasn't to long before the doctor came up the aisle and before Sharon knew it it was over. pictures were taken, Sharon made her way to the reception area and saw Quinn, he brought her a glass of punch.
"I hope its just punch, after last night I think it will be awhile before I get drunk again." Sharon said taking a sip.
Sharon smiled up at him, he was nice and handsome, her feelings for him were just blooming, she saw a twinkle in his eye that she had never saw before, especially when she was around him.

Commander, a word please?" K'Nara turned to find Horn following her. She sighed annoyed.
We all need a break commander, and now we have the chance."
"Mr Horn," she snarled. "While I always enjoy one of your lectures, that is exactly where I was heading. I intended to go back to the ship, change into a long slitted leather evening dress, a klingon one and return to rightly celebrate the Counselor and doctors nuptials." She faced him, staring the vulcan down.
"Now if you would excuse me I suggest you get back to the party," K'Nara tryed hard to control her voice. "I will be along again soon." She waited fully prepared to order the alien if necessary.
The vulcan nodded finally stepping out of her path. She set off forward but said loudly over her shoulder.
"Oh and Mr Horn, should I ever decide to throw a real tantrum believe me you will know about it," she shook her head. "I merely informed my father that if he goad me once more I would stick the shoe where the sun doesn't shine. He deserved it and the old warrior knows it or it would be him here following me. I suggest you study up on some Klingonese if from that incident you truelly believe I would end up being a security risk. Oh and perhaps keep your nose out of family affairs."
Half an hour later, much more comfortable in more familiar attire, K'Nara headed straight for the happy couple. "A gift," she informed them, handling Valeia a small box. Inside was a hollodec programme, "Battle of the blood moon."
"It is something you can enjoy together," she informed them. "Though Doctor, "she turned to Valeia, "I would suggest some decent armour on your part."

Post by Dr. Valeia Roquel Mercy on Mar 20, 2008 4:21:38 GMT
Laughing as Naois literally swept her off her feet and carried her into their new quarters, Valeia beamed up at her new husband as he set her back on her feet. “At least this time you didn’t sling my over your shoulder and carry me halfway across the ship.” she teased him lightly as he pulled her close and kissed her again.
This time, now that they were alone, she could sense rather vividly what he was thinking and feeling, and it was pretty much in line with her thoughts and feelings as well. There may have been a reception, their reception, to attend, but leaving to go anywhere was the last thing Valeia wanted right then. As Naois pulled back, his new wife sighed, extremely reluctant to let him go. "We should go back. I just wanted to show you our new home. Do you like it?" he asked, his voice low with barely concealed emotion, making it even harder for her to let him go.
Not even looking at the room around her, Valeia wrapped her arms around his neck and replied, “As long as I’m with you, it doesn’t matter where I am.” The corner of his mouth turned up slightly, but Naois raised his eyebrow at her, clearly implying that wasn’t what he’d meant and he knew exactly what she was up to.
Laughing again, but pouting slightly at her failed attempt to direct his attention, she let him go and took a good look around the room. They both didn’t really have much as far as décor was concerned, but what they did have had all been moved in already. The picture of her parents was hanging on the wall, and a vase of her favorite flowers, lavender roses, were in the center of the table. Not many changes had actually been made to the basic layout of the accommodations, but it still felt far more like home than her quarters on the Dark Phoenix ever had.
“It’s perfect,” Valeia answered happily, turning her attention back on Naois. At his continued amused but hesitant expression, she insisted. “Oh come on, I only want one more kiss. Is that so much to ask? I promise I’ll behave…” He didn’t look entirely convinced but also clearly didn’t mind another kiss too much. After a few moments, they both reluctantly pulled back, knowing all too well that since the party was for them after all, their presence, or lack thereof, would not go unnoticed.
~
Heather was bored. No, it wasn’t exactly boredom; it was more…restlessness. Since Valeia’s extremely unexpected lecture, she’d been the picture of decorum, except for the one tiny incident involving too much to drink at the party, but that was different. Heather had accepted Naois and his parents wholeheartedly and thrown herself into the wedding preparations with all her energy, resisting the urge to flirt with Doctor Stuart Mercy, and even holding her tongue and letting Valeia decide what she wanted for the most part. She had been a perfect saint.
Now the wedding was over, her tears shed, and her surrogate daughter happily married, it was time to have some fun and a party seemed like the perfect place. All she needed now was someone to have some fun with...but who? Scanning the room, like a predator looking for her prey, she spotted him. Of course, Heather had noticed him before, at the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and wedding, but she had been so distracted by being the “mother of the bride” that it hadn’t quite dawned on her until now that he was exactly what she was looking for. With a slightly evil smile, the predator licked her lips in anticipation and went on the hunt.
Throwing back a shot of…something….that a nearby waiter was passing around, Heather smoothed her hair and rather tight dress, before sauntering casually over to the table where her target was sitting, all alone and unguarded, the perfect mark. “Is this seat taken?” she purred, sitting demurely as he indicated it was not. “It was such a lovely ceremony, really. I don’t believe that we have been properly introduced. I’m Heather, Valeia’s...well I took care of her growing up. I’m not quite old enough to be her actual mother.” Laughing lightly, Heather leaned forward, placing her hand on her companion’s arm. “But there’s no need to introduce yourself to me, handsome. I know who you are. I was hoping to get to know you...”
~
Thanking yet another person she didn’t know after receiving congratulations, Valeia’s eyes scanned the room before settling on the reason for her search: her new husband. He looked so…attractive in his naval dress uniform that it was hard to take her eyes off of him. All these good wishes and small talk were quite necessary being the bride, as everyone seemed to want to tell her how beautiful she looked, how romantic the ceremony was, what a wonderful party… This was all well and good, but the Betazoid only wanted one thing right now, and that was to be with Naois….away from everyone else. That time would come soon enough she supposed, but in some ways it felt like the minutes were literally dragging by.
Naois seemed to feel her eyes, and mind, on him, and he glanced over then, letting a slight grin cross his face before turning back to focus his attention on the person speaking with him. Smiling herself, Valeia sighed. He was so good at composing himself to appear so calm all the time. Right now, his emotions were closer to the surface than usual, but it still amazed her how easy it seemed to be for him to keep the majority of how he was feeling so well hidden.
Her smile turned to a grin as she decided to give his Vulcan control a real test, and send a few ideas of what she’d really rather be doing right now in his direction. Even from a few feet away, she could see his ears start to turn green as he tried to nod politely at whatever the person he was speaking with was saying, but a few moments later, he excused himself from the conversation and headed in her direction. With the grin still firmly planted on her face, Valeia moved to meet him halfway, batting her eyelashes at him demurely. “Feeling a bit warm, darling?”
Before he could reply, a more traditional looking Commander Corval walked straight up to them and handed Valeia a small box. “A gift,” the Klingon stated calmly. Slightly startled, the Betazoid took the gift, with a murmured thank you, and opened it to find a small chip easily recognized as a holodeck program of some kind. "Battle of the blood moon; it is something you can enjoy together. Though Doctor, I would suggest some decent armor on your part."
Further startled, Valeia blinked in surprise. Glancing at Naois, she suddenly got the rather amusing image of him in full Klingon armor trying to dispatch some sort of monster, and a delighted smile crossed her face. “Thank you very much. This was very thoughtful of you.” the doctor replied gratefully. “And thank you for being a part of our wedding. I know this wasn’t exactly easy for your, but I appreciate it.”
<Tag K’Nara>
Suddenly, over the Klingon first officer’s shoulder, Valeia spotted something that made her heart stop for a moment. Heather, leaning over rather close to a man in uniform…and although the man’s back was turned to her, it was easy enough to recognize her commanding officer, Admiral Brahms. Not able to see his face, it was unclear whether he had the look of a poor, trapped animal that was trying to get away or if he was enjoying himself, but the look on Heather’s face was unmistakable. It was her pursuing look, and Marcus was clearly her target.
“Oh no…” Valeia whispered, her face going pale, causing both K’Nara and Naois to turn and look in that direction as well. It was unclear whether Brahms required rescuing or not, but if he wasn’t interested, he was in a very dangerous place…

"I hope its just punch, after last night I think it will be awhile before I get drunk again." Sharon said taking a sip.
"I'm guessing we are never going to hear more than rumours about that evening?" Quinn asked.
Sharon smiled up at him. He knew the answer to that question before he had even asked it.
"I have some news by the way, I'ts not been made official yet, but we are heading to Aaranoch, my home." Quinn said, his eyes showing how happy he was to be finally heading home after so long, even if it was only briefly. "And if we get a spare five minutes during the mission, I would love to show you some of it, and to take you flying, proper flying." Quinn waved his wings to show what he meant.

"I have some news by the way, It's not been made official yet, but we are heading to Aaranoch, my home." Quinn said, his eyes showing how happy he was to be finally heading home after so long, even if it was only briefly. "And if we get a spare five minutes during the mission, I would love to show you some of it, and to take you flying, proper flying." Quinn waved his wings to show what he meant.
Sharon reddened slightly and smiled.
"I would love to fly with you, just out of curiosity, will I be in a harness or will you be holding me?" Sharon asked curiously.
Sharon smiled at his answer, and soon she was tired and her feet were killing her.
"Quinn would you walk me to my quarters, I will bid my goodbyes to naois and Valeia.
At his nod Sharon walked over to where the couple were and told them she was calling it a night hugging them both she left.

As the night progressed, newcomers arrived, some who had just finished duty shifts, and people were starting to leave ..
Polly informed Brahms that she, and Admiral Su were leaving the party. All three walked over to the main table, where Naois and Valeia were sat chatting.
Brahms couldn't fail to notice how they never strayed more than a few feet apart, before once again moving together ..
"Captain Mercy .. Madam." Admiral Su said, "I must thank you for your generosity in allowing my presence at your wedding."
"It was'h our pleasure Admiral ... Admirals." Valeia said, a very slight slur to her speech
Brahms grinned, knowing she would be embarrassed at this in a few days' time. But she had every right to enjoy her day ..
"I will accompany the Admirals." Brahms said, leaning forward holding out a hand ..
Naois understood the gesture, and took the offered hand in a firm grip and shook ..
"Thank you Admiral." he said, and as he let the hand go, Brahms was pleasantly surprised when Valeia leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek, before sitting back with her new husband ..
Marcus said his good-byes as the three moved across the room, then through the doors into the quiet corridor ..........
OOC: Could everyone begin to wind down their Kal-'i'far threads soon please .. I will unlock our next mission (DP6 : Rocks and Hard Places) shortly ..
Thank you for an enjoyable Shore Leave thread & Congratulations to the newlyweds .. ;D

"I would love to fly with you, just out of curiosity, will I be in a harness or will you be holding me?" Sharon asked curiously.
"You have either of those options, or if you would prefer, youll have the opportunity to ride the thermals using wings similar to the paragliders you use on Earth. We can see who truely flys better." Sharon smiled at his answer .
At little while later, Sharon looking rather tired, said to Quinn. "Quinn would you walk me to my quarters, I will bid my goodbyes to naois and Valeia."
Quinn nodded and he and Sharon walked over to where the couple were and told them she was calling it a night, and gave them both a hug, Quinn said congratulations and walked with Sharon to her room. She was strangely quiet on the way, obviously thinking about something so Quinn didnt disturb her, knowing that it was probably something to do with them.

Sharon slid her arm under Quinn's and got close to him as they headed out, she was lost in thought thinking about the lovely couple, she was also thinking about Quinn as well. They entered the lift and took it to her quarters and walked there.
"They are a lovely couple don't you think?" Sharon asked.
Sharon nodded to his response as they got to her door, she had mixed feelings on what she was about to do but decided to anyway.
"Would you like to come in for a little while." Sharon asked hoping he would say yes.
Sharon felt comfortable with Quinn and she was in love it would be hard to change that but she was definitely in love with him. She was considering asking him something but was afraid to.
