As always, this situation had been greatly displeasing to Tak Science. Then again, he was seldom a very cheery individual. His repose with Mel had been short-lived, and he was right back to his previous behaviors. Looking down to the newly procured tricorder and tried to decipher some of the readings. Being relatively unhappy with what he saw, the Kzinti started to look back to the machinery.
It was not exactly the best of readings, as one might expect from the feline’s less than enthusiastic reaction to the tricorder’s screen. Nevertheless, he was a perseverant individual. There was no need to simply throw in the towel just yet, as a boxer might say. Instead, it would be best to continue until he got it right, or at least until who was ever on duty called him off.
Basically, the system’s problems had come to a head. However, he was trying to restore digital services, not lance a sty, and therefore the feline noticed that the problems that he was discovering was not so much a diagnostic boon as it was a bane to repair attempts. That was not, of course, and ideal solution since the more angry he got, the more difficult it became to work with the system. Nevertheless, that old Kzinti Police Academy training was about to come in handy.
Reaching down into the system, the feline released his claw and severed the cord marked power…if it wasn’t going to respond to shut down commands, then he was absolutely certain that this method was going to get the machine to shut down.
That is, of course, until he realized that the emergency back up power system was still working.
