Several days after his successful training flight with now Ensign Sharon Wolf, Naois walked back into his office to find two new applications waiting; one for science and one for engineering. The Vulcan smiled to himself. This station had plenty of opportunity for an engineering cadet, but what was he to do about the science one?
The moon he had taken Wolf to had shown a thin atmosphere, which could be of interest to the new science cadet, but that would mean he had to devise something for the engineering cadet. He could sabotage the shuttle, but that would enter the risk of crash landing. Then again, this time he would be piloting the shuttle himself, and he was a qualified pilot at least.
That, or there had to be something of engineering interest on the moon. Another nearby moon had shown signs of technology, alien unknown technology. Perhaps he could go there instead?
Naois sat back and reviewed both options, but first he'd assess the newcomers to see where their interests lay. He tapped his com-badge as he got up and walked to his replicator to order a pot of coffee. "Cadets Science and Winters, report to my office," he ordered, then picked up the personnel files of both cadets. To his horror, he noticed that one of them was a member of a race that was the Federation's worst enemy: the Kzinti. "This should be interesting," he murmured as he sipped his coffee.

Thus in walked the tiger-esque cadet, a bit of an angered appearance on his feline countenance. He shook his head, exhaling towards her. "I have heard that you have attempted to..modify my name. I knew that I was making a serious mistake when I had intended to enter Starfleet...I have a fear that these emotions to that effect have thus been confirmed."
He furrowed his brow, showing his fangs gently, "What is it that you require of me in here? I promise to be an efficient officer when I achieve that. I do not believe there is anything else to be promised to me."
He looked to her, taking a seat without permission, "It is not like me to speak with a female, let alone an eater of leaves and roots. Therefor consider yourself quite worthy of my presence. I must continue to press..."
He leaned back in the chair softly, raising an eyebrow, "I should press that I will accept a survey of the moon's atmosphere. I assure you that I have studied the previous mission and predicted what you were going to offer towards me."

Mike was sat in Captain Mercy's outer office .. He was looking through the applications for the Academy, though he was more interested in cadet's that had specified flight traing as one of their specialties ..
True, all the cadets were required to go through the flight school, as everyone needed to be at least competent to fly ..
It seemed no-one had requested specialized training ..
"Ahh Well." he said, deciding to go to his own office and get the long overdue 'paperwork' sorted out ..
As he was leaving, he saw two Cadets arriving .. A young woman, Human, at least by appearance, red hair, quite pretty he thought wryly .. But the other one stood out ..
Mike had only seen one Kzinti before, and they hadn't seen eye to eye .. But that, he reminded himself, was in the past .. It was a rarity indeed for one to be granted Federation citizenship, and even rarer for one to join the Academy .. Rampton nodded as the two passed him, then checked the files, Engineering and Science. Good ..
'Maybe old prejudices were finally being outgrown' he thought with a smile ..
The feline-like Kzinti and the young lady, activated the door chime and were given permission to enter the Captain's office ..........

ooc: Ms Winters, please do not write for me, I prefer to write my own character and as you do not know my character please do not assume what he would respond. Mr Science, I am going to assume the female line was directed at me, rather than Ms Winters. Even though Naois is positively male.
ic:
Naois regarded the two cadets with interes but raised an eyebrow when the Kzinti cadet made a comment about females. "Cadet Science, in Starfleet men and women are all equal. While in your culture, men may be of more value and/or may be more intelligent than women, in Starfleet we make no such distinction." He offered both of them a slight and rare smile. "Besides, I am quite male, even for a half-breed."
The Vulcan sat up a little straighter, covering a slight wince and glanced at both cadets. "Now, Cadet Science, do please tell me what brought you to Starfleet and what made you decide to go into the field of science. Also please tell me what area of science holds your interest. Cadet Winters, when Cadet Science is done, you will do the same please. Feel free to ask eachother questions as you two are going to be working together on this mission. I will be your guide and your pilot, but the majority of the work will be yours."
(cadets please elaborate on what made you choose. Please write more than 3 paragraps, and more than 15 lines in total.)

The feline raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me, I am not as of yet skilled at the identification of gender within...non furred beings." He leaned back into the chair slowly, grumbling a bit to himself as his ears moved along, "I do trust, however, that I should be able to integrate myself with the others who live in the Federation."
He growled a bit, looking to her, "I became a Federation citizen when I realize there was only so much in the Kzinti Police Fleet. The Treaty of Sirius has quite a few restrictions as I am sure you know. As unsatisfactory as this may sit with you, I am a Federation citizen now. I expect to be treated with the same respect any other Federation citizen would have."
The feline's tail curled around his stomach gently as he continued to answer the questions. He seemed to be calming himself as best he could, "I hope you understand that in the Patriarchy it is not a sexist stigma - Kzitni females are literally not sentient beings."
He then raised an eyebrow, "Science? Astrometrics. When I was in the Kzinti Police Fleet I worked in stellar imaging, though there was..little to do if you are to understand of what I speak. I believe we are inborn with talents. I have little more to say - I earned my name of science did I not? This means I have worked towards it as an achievement. I was born into a scientific caste. I am suited for it. Will there be more?"
He sighed then once again, his whiskers moving this way and that. Looking about he began to speak again. "Klingons have served several times in Starfleet, and they were unquestioned. Furthermore, it is professed that the United Federation of Planets is devoid of racism. Why then are you all so shocked?"

Before Winters or Naois could reply, the commandant's office suddenly trembled with increasing violence and amplitude, rattling the cups in his antique cupboard and knocking a painting from the wall. Naois held up his hand as he listened to a report that came through. "The Dark Phoenix is on her way home to assit," he told both cadets, "in the mean time, our flight is cancelled. Instead, I want you both to work together on repairing the damage and discovering what caused the explosion."
He glanced pointedly at Tak. "Cadet Science, you are right about the Federation, we are not racist in general. However you are an oddity...so you will get odd reactions. I do not mean this in a negative, I believe it is good to see our enemies trying to understand our ways and I am certain we could learn a lot from you as well. I want you to work with Cadet Winters to the best of your abilities and learn that women are intelligent creatures. Sometimes even more intelligent than us mere men."
Next he glanced at Winters. "I want you to figure out the engineering aspect of this explosion and suggest ways to efficiently repair the station and protect it from further attempts of terrorism. Assuming this is terrorism of course. And I want you to work with Cadet Science to the best of your ability, and learn that Kzinti are now more than just our enemy. This particular Kzinti is our ally, and you need to learn to trust his judgement."
He offered them both an encouraging though sad smile. "Lead the way to the crime scene and tell me what you see. In detail please, as I will be on hand to assist as counselor."

The feline exhaled heavily, not seeming to purr in the manner of a Caitian or Sivoan. He shut his eyes gently, "I, I have read the story of one Worf, the Son of Mogh. He was Klingon, a race I mentioned before. They were not...so mistreated it would seem when he joined. I ask that, for that reason, you stop calling us enemies. We are warriors, predators even. If we are to be enemies, we are to be honored in such."
He shut his eyes, shaking his head as he recovered from the reverberations of the explosion. As he did, he listened intently to the speech, nodding his head without any more comment as he exited the room, tricorder in hand. Err, paw.
Moving about towards a wall corridor, and examining various energy courses, he shook his head. With that, he set the device to continue to scan for any structural fractures or fissures that would be coherent in explanation of the energy courses so aformentioned. Much to his surprise, he found nothing of the sort. He shut his eyes, begining to think over the situation as it did not seem that anyone was in immediate danger.
He frowned, noting too that no one was immediatly around, though there did seem to be debris that was not concurrent with the data collected by his tricorder. He started to call out towards anyone, but neither heard them nor detected any very close lifesigns.
Something was either very strange afoot or...
At that moment Tak rushed back to the office, barging his way through the doorway that was a bit off the ball do to the damage. He glared at the Captain, shaking his head as he seemed so fond of doing. "I have a solution to the problem - give the computer an order to end the simulation."

After leaving the Commandants office, Rampton entered a nearby turbo-lift ..
He was heading down several decks to the bases secondary flight operations center, where all maintenance and training flights were co-ordinated ..
He was planning to set the schedules For the new Cadets' first training flights .. Captain Mercy usually took the newbies on their first outing and Mike would monitor from operations ..
As the lift dropped he studied the data on the two Cadets .. Suddenly the lift shook violently, throwing Rampton to the side wall. he hit heavily and felt pain burst in his shoulder .. The turbo-lift itself began to drop uncontrollably for a few seconds, then the safely systems took over and slowed it to a halt .. Mike moved over to the partially open door. He was approximately fifty centimeters below the level of the deck, so with a wary glance at the opening, he squeezed his way through into the corridor ...
Alarms were sounding and the red directional indicators were active, showing the way to safety or escape .. Mike ran in the opposite direction .. Toward Operations ..
As he entered the corridor, he was confronted with a massive wall .. The emergency bulkhead had slid into place, there was no way he was getting to operations that way .. Back in the main corridor, he began seeing injured people, he stopped a Lieutenant ...
"What the hells going on .. Has there been a collision ?"
"Bomb .." the man managed to get out as he coughed, "It was a massive bomb Sir .. There can't be anyone left."
"Bomb !" Mike said, astonished at the news, "What about Operations ?"
"It must be gone Sir .. So is the observation lounge and floors above and below it from what i've heard." the man finished, moving away from Rampton ..
'There will be many more injured in there' he thought .. Somehow he needed to get in and offer some help .. The corridor began filling with Security, Mainanance, and Medical personnel ..
Help had arrived ..........

Naois turned, motioning to the two engineers to wait for him for a moment. "End program?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow. "Are you under the impression that this is a drill, Cadet Science?"
The Vulcan motioned towards the window, willing the Kzinti to take a look outside. When he didn't move, he propelled the startled feline towards the indicate window. "Look to your right cadet, and note the damage we can see quite clearly from my office. There has been an attack on this station, the body count is now forty-three and we still have ten crewmembers missing. One hundred and seventy people are injured and three decks have been damaged."
He glared right back at the feline, whose hackles were now raised. "Unless you have suggestions on how to protect this station and how to efficiently and swiftly repair it, do please be quiet and go look for Miss Winters. She disappeared before you ran off. I will meet you at the damaged site in fifteen minutes for joint inspection of the site. If you find any casualties, alert Doctor Donolly. He will direct casualties to sickbay. Any witnesses shall be referred to Ensign Divine from security or to myself. Any questions?"

The Kzinti gulped, actually fearing what his miscalculation may have caused. Giving a frightened expression, which he would most likely later comment on as something that was wholly unbecoming for a warrior like himself, he rushed off out of the office, his tail almost catching into the door. Noting the name of Winters, and accepting that even if female she were still a living being, he tapped in a few life signs into a tricorder that he was sure would match someone like Miss Winters. Running in the direction that at least some organic signs were detected, he felt that he was too late - and thus he began to blame his original misjudgment of the situation. He shook his head, placing away the tricorder as he came to a portion of a downed wall. He took up a piece of the debris in his powerful feline arms, thrusting it away from the area. He looked about, noting the presence of someone before finding half of the Starfleet delta logo - the other half seemed to have been crushed underneath the console as it first collapsed. He gulped, shaking his head once more as he mounted a bit more blame to himself. He touched his combadge, "Captain...Captain are you able to receive me? I believe I have found...Miss Winters. She would seem to have been killed immediatly after a heavy beam fell on her. I am leaving her unto you, and she is located in the third corridor in front of the office I had just been standing in." Gulping, and turning his head, he began again to search for life signs that could be located with the tricorder. He seemed to have been picking up a strong pulsating figure as he continued, moving to a likewise downed console. This unit however had shattered and would thus not have fallen on a victim with as much impact. Again those feline arms would clear the debris against grimaced teeth and fangs. He shook his head gently, as it was becoming such a habbit. He looked down, scanning the individual even though he was carrying a TR-580 Tricorder VII and not a medical tricorder. He would soon tap his combadge, "I cannot get a hold of the Doctor, though I have a medical emergency...I need a team fast and.." His eyes grew wide at the readings, dropping the link and hoping they got a fix on his location from it. He removed the scanner tube from the tricorder, tossing the actual unit aside. Pushing his claw through the tube to remove the scanning equipment he slashed open the victim's throat, placing the hollowed tube into the hole - a makeshift tracheotomy to allow the blocked air passage to receive what it could until a doctor arrived. Cadet I edited your post a little as Miss Winters wasn't killed DURING the explosion, but AFTER it...unstable decks and all that. No biggie but please do read posts hm? Captain Mercy

Sharon had gone back to her quarters and had changed out of the cadet uniform and put on the the Grey uniform with the red shirt underneath, that sported the Gold pip of ensign. She packed her things and had them ready for as soon as the Phoenix arrived they would be transported aboard.
She left her quarters and took a walk, the place was quite big and found some shops to do a little window shopping, she had credits but spent them wisely and efficiently. She was looking at a new dress when the whole place shook violently. She left and headed to wards the lounge and smoke was billowing out a fire was going then she saw the commandant and ran to him.
"Commandant, whats going on?" She asked.
"if I can help let me know please." She said.

"Captain," Naois corrected the newly promoted ensign absentmindedly, as he listened to the report of Cadet Science. "Find Commander Rampton and take him out in a shuttle. I want the damage reported from the outside. Then I want you to meet me at the site of the explosion. Do you have any skills in engineering?"
As he waited for Wolf to respond, he beckoned her and broke into a run. Their ways parted at the nearest junction and Naois ran on, gasping for breath and in pain as he did so. He wasn't supposed to run just yet and his leg was smarting even as his broken rib jabbed against his skin. Panting, he arrived at his cadet's location and reviewed the scene. "Doctor Donolly, report!" he called, but received only static.
"I imagine sickbay was damaged," he said looking down at the dead female cadet with a hint of sadness. Even as Science moved to the nearest console to assess the damage to the station, Naois knelt down beside the body of Cadet Winters. "At least she did not suffer when the beam collapsed," he murmured as he moved his hand over her eyes to close them. He beckoned the maintenance engineers to take her body to sickbay for cleaning up, then walked over to Science, who now was kneeling once more beside the other officer who had been hit.
"You did well," he commented, motioning towards the young Vulcan male officer with the scanner in his throat to breathe through. "That was very quick thinking cadet," he praised, "You may very well have saved Ensign Seltek's life. Now, what did you find on the assignment I gave you?"
Naois knew that tragedy could hit cadets hard, but Kzinti were a warrior race and the Vulcan was certain this particular Kzinti would be able to deal with this tragedy. His hand closed down over the cadet's shoulder in an attempt to show comfort. Instead, he felt the feline's muscles tense under his touch, however he didn't remove his hand. "Are you all right cadet?" he queried.

"Commander, Ensign Sharon Wolf reporting as per Captain Mercys request." She said.

"Captain Mercy requested that I find you and take you out in a shuttle to survey the damage and report back to him." She said.

The Kzinti shuddered - even he as a warrior, though he would not verbally admit it, was shaken by the situation. His whiskers moved about carefully as his eyes squinted. He looked to the one that had just asked him the question as he stood up slowly.
"No, no I am not well....ahem, I shall however recover in a most timely manner so that I might not have to waste any time that..." He stood, shrugging off whatever hand may still touch his back.
Clicking his heels, he stood again in resplendence, looking about, "I will continue on the search then." He took what remained of his tricorder, stepping off gently with a yawn. He then stretched in a most feline manner, continuing down the corridor as he followed the biopatterns that were present on the tricorder. Finding nothing of use this way, he realigned his scan, searching for any remnant of the explosive material. He scrawled his eyebrows, looking back down the aformentioned corridor as he pressed his combadge.
"This is Tak. I believe I have found traces of tri-cobalt material that could still be combustible. I recommend an engineering team to search for likewise traces."
With this said, he turned back around, whipping the scanning device back out with a bit of a growl - a tinge of regret clearly present in his eye.
The scientist found a console, noting that it was rather unstable and that it would soon be demolished under it's own weight. He leaned his paws up to it with a grunt, began to hold the structure up. Then, walking backwards, he would allow the structure to gently collapse in a controlled fashion so that the damage would be controlled. The feline was thus covered with a great deal of gray dust, assaulting his nose and senses.

"Acknowledged," Naois responded to the scientist's report, "any indication on who or what may have placed the explosive charges, and what their motives may have been?" He paused, reviewing his PADD. There was, apparently, another engineering cadet that had slipped his attention.
"Captain Mercy to Cadet Torres, please report to the explosion site immediately. Cadet Science requires your assistance in an engineering matter."
The Vulcan tapped his combadge again. "Cadet Science, report back to site. Your attention is required at my present location and I have acquired assistance for you." Then he realised something; he had no idea what tri-cobalt was. It sounded like a chemical element but he wasn't sure he ought to know what it was used for. "Cadet...could you explain something to a simple counselor?"
He waited for the cadet to acknowledge his communication, before continuing. "What does tri-cobalt do and what is it generally used for? And who would have access to it?"

The feline nodded softly, thinking to himself of how to phrase this as he stopped midway, reversing direction and walking to where he had been 'led.' He blinked softly, listening to the bit of speech that had come through his combadge. Finally, he was thus prompted to speak his own piece.
"Cobalt is a ferromagnetic elemental metal that is noted for the blue color that shares it's name. When placed in triplicate molecular bonds, it can become a highly explosive material based on photonic fission, among various other principles. This is similar to the once proposed cobalt weapons concept."
He took a breath to collect his thoughts before continuing his dissertation, "Tri-cobalt devices are used as Starfleet ship to ship weapons, among other uses. Arne Darvin once used a tri-cobalt bomb inside of a tribble. The Union of Eminar VII also have employed this technology, as has the Romulan Star Empire. Is this sufficient data, or have I left something awry?"
He raised an eyebrow, "Considering this, by the way, I could narrow down the list of possible suspects to be of a species that occupies Federation, Romulan, or Klingon space, Eminarian, Vendikarian, or something near close. My best postulated hypothesis would concur that it was an inside job. Therefore, though I do not have a motive, and one might say it is too early to be drawing accusations, I would say that a Federation citizen who perhaps is in Starfleet is involved."
With that, to punctuate the sentence, he purred gently.
"I would begin by examining if our own weapons stores have been tampered with. This bares somewhat of a coincidence of a case study that I as a Cadet am required to overtake. Though I do not mean to be rambling, in my quest to be complete, I shall mention that in 2293 a Federation Starship had a difficulty in retaining records of it's own torpedo discharges, due to terrorist activity."

Sharon and Commander Rampton back to where Captain Naois and Cadet Science were and the four of them headed for the shuttle bay and found one in decent shape. He let her enter first, she smiled a gentleman and a officer is nice. She went directly to the pilots seat and her hands flew across the board for the startup sequence, she had a thought with the emergency the doors wont open.
"Commander permission to use a old trick i learned a long time ago." She said.
He looked at her and nodded, she patched into the shuttles main computer and worked into the stations computer after a few taps an alarm sounded advising main shuttle bay doors were opening in 5 seconds to clear the area. She turned and winked at the commander and the four of them set off.
They went directly to space and moved around to where they could see the damaged areas, it was not good, one big gouge near some of the quarters, her heart sunk hoping no one was in them at the time, another hole was in the lounge, there were bodies and debris in different places but the forcefields were holding. She maneuvered around the bodies and debris and shook her head and a tear went down her cheek.
They completed their survey of the damage and returned to the shuttle bay Through the forcefield and landed. Captain Naois was still a little shaky but not as bad as he had first been. Sharon landed the shuttle and the four of them got out.

"Thank you cadet Science," Naois spoke, even as his previous cadet, now Ensign Wolf, walked up to him, with Commander Rampton in tow. The ensign suggested taking out a shuttle to survey the damage, which he relucantly consented to.
He knew, and had experienced, that Wolf was a talented pilot but that didn't diminish his dislike of flying if anyone but himself was at the controls. He tapped his combage again. "Cadet Science, report to the shuttlebay, immediately. I want you to assist us in assessing the damage from the outside."
Several minutes later, the four of them sat in the shuttle, which Wolf expertly flew out of the bay after using a trick Naois knew he would have to deal with later. If a mere ensign could do this, so could terrorists, from either side, and now safeties would have to be built in.
The Vulcan stiffled a gasp as he saw the extend of the damage, and the bodies floating between the debris. Momentarily, he felt extremely ill and he leaned over his console for a moment to clear his head. "I have seen enough," he finally whispered. "Cadet Science, please take whatever readings you need and formulate a theory on who may be behind this. Additionally, scan for more explosive devices."
Even as he said it, a second explosion tilted the starbase even further. Naois winced as he saw a huge gap being blown into several decks not too far away from the first explosion, right near the pylons that were holding the Trinity. "Rampton, signal the Phoenix and as them what is keeping them. Also Alert USS Olsoy and USS Loki-A. We need every medical and security team available to us. Sickbay will not be able to cope."
He turned to the Kzinti. "Now would be a good time to tell me your hypothesis cadet," he snapped, though his expression was one of exreme sadness and shock. Viewing the scans, he discovered the second explosion had destroyed the academy levels, including the office he had been only minutes before. He was, however, not going to tell the cadet and the ensign that. From the shocked look on Rampton's face, he knew that Rampton too had realised this.

He nodded softly, moving back to the science console reverently as he took the prescribed measurements. Nodding his head softly, he turned in his seat and already he began to feel the shuttle veering a bit. "I am completed. Please, take me away from this scene.." And with that he began to do something that no self-respecting Kzinti warrior should.
He started to gently weep before he regained control of his emotions.
"I must take responsibility for believing it was a holodeck simulation and not acting as quickly as I should have." He shook his head before leaning back at his console, "I can confirm - there are no more explosive devices. This is unquestionably true unless they are using some sort of ship bor....computer!"
With a tweedlebeep, the system came online for him.
"Scan for any tachyon particles emitting from the reactor levels."
=^= There is a partial stream emanating from auxiliary engineering =^=
"Computer, display!"
He stared with great interest as he turned around. "Computer, display for me the names of all of the members of the auxiliary engineering teams that have access to Stardock."
He stared at the panel before him, "Reduce to show only those that are Tellarite."
He nodded, seeing only one name, "Computer, connect to the Starbase computer core. Give me the location of Ensign Gav."
=^= Ensign Gav is not aboard the Starbase =^=
The Kzinti appeared with a face of great shock, turning to Naois, "Captain! This is no longer a theory....for reasons unknown as well as no motive I can find Ensign Gav...a Tellarite in the Auxiliary Engineering department has set off the tri-cobalt weapons. Due to extended biosigns I have been able to track his positions and species, thus it was clearly a matter of deduction."
He continued to fight back tears, obviously blaming himself for a good bit of the situation, "And, if we do not get to Auxiliary Engineering immediatly, a cloaked tri-cobalt torpedo will go off inside our reactor core! I recommend we beam it into space..."

Moving to the Comms console of the shuttle, Mark allowed the Cadet to take the Helm. He contacted the Dark Phoenix, as well as the only two other ship's close enough at the moment to be of any help ..
"Captain ..." Mark began, hesitating as Naois composed himself for a second, "The Phoenix is only four hours away .. But the Loki-A and the Olsoy are still twelve and fourteen hours away respectively."
"Half a day then." Naois said.
"Yes." Rampton replied, watching the Captain carefully as he turned to Tak.
"Now would be a good time to tell me your hypothesis cadet." he snapped.
Both Senior Officers could see, and fully understood the implications of the blast .. Because if they had been only fifteen minutes later in leaving Mercy's office .. They wouldn't be here now, because the Academy levels above the Observation Lounge, as well as Naois' office, no longer existed ...
As Tak began the return journey, taking the shuttle away from all the damage, the Comm sounded .. Mark spoke quietly, then signaled the Captain ..
"The Phoenix is on Comms."
Mercy nodded and a second later, the image of Commodore Brahms appeared on-screen ..
=^= Naois .. What's the situation there ? =^=
=^= Not good Commodore .. Not good .. I'm having Commander Rampton send the latest images of the exterior damage to Resurrection =^=
Mark nodded silently, and forwarded the data ..
=^= We're getting it now Naois .. Oh hell .. What a mess ! =^= Brahms exclaimed as he saw the hundred meter gaping wound in the star base.
=^= She's listing at almost thirty five degrees now too .. There was a secondary explosion .. Fuel cells from the aero-wing used by the Academy .. It vented through the opening and increased the list of the base .. If Engineering can't get the artificial gravity back on-line soon we're going to have many more injuries =^= Rampton added.
=^= I've spoken to Admiral O'Shasserra .. She's on her way back but will be traveling for three day's =^= Brahms said.
=^= We have been informed =^= the Captain said.
=^= OK .. We'll be with you shortly Naois .. Phoenix out =^=
The Comm closed, Naois was silent as he watched the 'base closely ..
"Get us back in Cadet." Mike said quietly ..........

Once they landed Sharon shut down the power but kept thinking about what the cadet said.
"Commander, I have an idea. This station has one operating runabout, i noticed it when we came into the shuttle bay." Sharon said,
"Well, cadet science mentioned a torpedo in auxiliary engineering, why couldn't the two of us take the runabout out and get that thing with the runabouts transporter and send the thing into deep space and if this tellerite creates problems the runabout if I'm not mistaken isn't just armed but shielded." She suggested.

On-board the cloaked vessel .. They relayed the news that the dummy device, hidden in almost plain sight in Auxiliary Engineering was to be beamed into open space and detonated .. Also that the Pheonix was hours away, and as a precaution, they were increasing their distance from the stricken star base .. Light-years distant, the woman grinned .. 'Humans' she thought with nothing but contempt ..
"They don't even suspect what fate has in store for them !" .. she said, and laughed quietly.
Ordering the hidden ship to keep her informed on the slightest development, she returned to the meal she was having, suddenly enjoying the look of the plate's contents ..........

"Do it," ordered Naois as Sharon piloted their shuttle closer to the station. Naois felt the anguish from the people on the station and he was having trouble blocking it out. At the second explosion, he had felt all those people dying. He hadn't at the first one, at least not as distinct as he felt it now.
The two young people used the shuttle to beam the other detonator into space where it exploded several seconds later. "Miss Wolf, take charge of all navigators on this starbase that are available and beam all these bodies to main infirmary for stasis storage until they can be buried. Beam any survivor to the civillian wards."
Naois nodded towards Rampton. "Charter any starship that can come to our aid," he ordered his second in command, "the Phoenix should be closing in on our location as we speak." He was aching to see Valeia again, to comfort her as he knew she would have seen images of the station now, including the destroyed academy levels.
"Mr Science, come with me. As of now, you are no longer Cadet Science but Ensign Science. Your swift actions, though they could not stop a second explosions, may have saved us from the complete destruction of Resurrection. Had you not determined what explosive device was used, we would not have been able to avoid a third explosion. I wish the circumstances could have been better."
