It had been several days since Valeia had left Resurrection and his company, but Naois had missed her the moment she had left his sight. Never before had he felt this bereft and there was nothing Antoine Donolly could do to cheer him up.
Once Donolly had released him from sickbay, Naois had gone straight back to work and had been rather annoyed to find that a cadet had been left waiting. He should've been informed, regardless of whether he had been stuck in sickbay. Tapping his combadge, he displayed the cadet's file before him. "Cadet Sharon Wolf, please report to my office."
(Wolf)
While he waited for the cadet to appear, he continued to scan the woman's file. His eyes widened when he spotted her choice of training, then groaned in annoyance and fear. He wasn't yet ready to go out flying with another cadet, but he had no choice. There were no other qualified trainers yet to take over from him. *I do hope this one actually knows how to fly* he pondered, shuddering as he remembered Cadet Rainstar and her lack of flying experience in Federation shuttles.
Only moments ago he had received news that Miss Rainstar had expired as a result from the crash she had caused, and though he had not liked the girl, he felt a pang of grief. It was never good to lose someone so young, when they would still be capable of changing carreer paths.
Naois struggled to pull his face into an unreadable expression again, before the cadet would arrive. Annoyed, he wiped a few tears from his eyes, then stared at the picture of the young doctor on his desk. She'd sent him that particular picture upon her arrival on the Dark Phoenix, along with a letter of how she was settling in.
The Vulcanoid looked up when the cadet finally entered his office and reported in. "At ease cadet. Sit down please and tell me something about yourself. How much flying experience do you have?" He almost mentioned the previous cadet had gotten herself killed in a crash and had almost taken him with her into death.

Sharon had just arrived at starfleet and was nervous, she had been placed into quarters with a cadet named Jinily. She was nice and very bright. Sharons family had been in starfleet so she grew up on a starship. She had made alot of friends on the endurance, and when she turned 16 the captain allowed her to pilot a shuttle. She had been nervous having had time in simulations, she managed to master it. She had had high grades thru school, so she managed to get quite a bit of training time to be a good pilot. She was taken out of her thoughts when the academy commadant, Captain Mercy called her.
"Cadet Sharon Wolf, please report to my office."
"On my way captain." She said.
She found her way aroud a little better and found the commadants office and rang the chime and was allowed entry.
"Cadet Sharon Wolf reporting as ordered sir." She said.
The Vulcanoid looked up when the cadet finally entered his office and reported in. "At ease cadet. Sit down please and tell me something about yourself. How much flying experience do you have?"
Sharon took a deep breath and spoke.
"I am 21, im from Atlanta Georgia. I like to read and play the electric organ. I have two dogs at home, dusty and happy and a cat named bit a honey. I have family in starfleet. My dad Al was captain on the Endurance, my mother was his cheif medical officer. I have one brother Matt, hes a engineer on the republic, hes a year older then i am.
Since my dad was the captain, i had starfleet pilot training when i reached my sixteenth birthday. I flew simulations till i could resite startup and shutdown of a shuttles power in my sleep. When i reached my seventeenth birthday. We took shoreleave on risa and dad allowed me to pilot the shutttle down and back to ths ship without a scratch." Sharon said.

Relief was visible on the Vulcan's features as he visibly relaxed. "So you you have flight experience," he concluded, "that is good. My last piloting cadet died during her first off-station flight."
He slid a PADD towards the young woman. "Settle into your quarters, then report to the flight simulator in an hour. I want to see what you can do first."
~~
An hour later, Naois waited for Wolf at the simulator and waved for her to enter. "These are simple exercises which will increase in difficulty as you go. One you have completed these, we will continue to practice several crash landings. Any questions? Good, please engage the program."
(please describe your flights)

Sharon looked at the PADD and smiled...
"Thank you sir, I will be there in one hour." Sharon said.
Sharon left the Commandants office and headed to her quarters and settled in. She left and took her time heading over to the flight simulators, walked in and saw the Commandants and headed to where he was. she was a tad nervous and stepped in when the Commandant asked her to.
~~~~~~~~~~
Shuttle simulator :
Sharon sat down and went through the start up sequence and once set tapped the communication button.
"Shuttle endurance to bridge permission to disembark." She asked following normal procedure.
"Permission granted." came from the computers voice.
Sharon engaged the thrusters and felt the shuttle lift and space appeared in the view-screen. She flew the ship heading for the planet directly in front of her and took the shuttle in through the atmosphere properly and headed for the landing area as designated, landed the shuttle and shutdown the systems. The computer beeped and reset. This time, on another planet, she followed the same startup sequence and left the planet surface, and headed directly for the atmosphere, once through, she turned and headed 335 mark 7 and engaged warp one. She followed the designations and watched a Galaxy-class Star ship fill the screen as she came out of warp. She tapped the communications
"Shuttle endurance to USS Yorktown permission to come aboard?" She asked.
"Permission granted, go to shuttle bay two." Came the voice again.
Sharon landed the shuttle and repeated this same process several times until the system shut down and the door to the simulator opened. Captain Mercy stepped in, with a look that was hard to tell what he was thinking.
His face expressionless, Naois stepped into the simulator, suppressing a shudder of distaste. "You flew well," he told her, "except on that final landing you had a little too much velocity which this program caught for you."
He stepped out of the simulator again, then handed her a PADD with a new assignment. "You are on approach to a damaged vessel, of which the shuttlebay doors will not open. How would you proceed? And how would you proceed if your sensors were malfunctioning at the same time, and you had to fly manually. Beaming out of your shuttle is not an option."
He listened with interest as she explained to him what she would do. "Very good, now you will fly this assignment. I will wait here for you while you complete your assignment." Usually, it was customary for an instructor to join the cadet, but Naois just couldn't bring himself to flying with a cadet just yet. He would need to be convinced by the cadet that it was safe to fly with her. "Good luck."
Sharon thought about it for a moment and came up with the only possible solution.
"Other then firing the shuttles phasers i would have to crash thru the shuttle bay doors." She said.
He listened with interest as she explained to him what she would do. "Very good, now you will fly this assignment. I will wait here for you while you complete your assignment." The simulation started and she took manual control and, was flying without sensors, she gradually made a turn and slowed the shuttles velocity, she used the main viewer as a point of reference and settled onto approach to the ship. She braced as the shuttle impacted with the doors, she heard the screeching of metal and the shuttle moved down the shuttle bay. She tapped the controls to slow up the velocity and the shuttle stopped before hitting the rear wall and she landed the shuttle on the deck.
She took a breath and the simulator door opened and in walked the commadant.
ooc: Cadet Wolf, please use a spell checker on your posts in the future, and do not resort to abbreviation of words. It is "through" not "thru" and please note differences in "their", "they're" and "there" as well as "woman" and "women". Additionally, I would like for you to write out on assignments a little more. Just one line as explanation when asked what you would do, is not sufficient.
ic: Naois walked into the simulator and wrinkled his nose against the smoke that was building up inside. "Congratulations," he stated coolly, "you have just managed to wreck the simulator. Since it how has to be repaired, Admiral O'Shasserra wants me to take you out in an actual shuttle."
This time he shuddered visibly at the very thought of flying an actual shuttle. "We are ordered to set course to Horus, a daemon class planet not too far from here. You will be practicing atmospheric entering and landing on hostile soil. You will use the experience you have gained in your two most recent simulations."
He handed her a PADD with information, then walked off, only to turn back to face her when he had reached the doors. "Report to shuttle bay two in thirty minutes. You may wish to bring survival gear, just in case."
(Wolf, please come up with something on what is on the PADD, qua terrain and the likes, possible species on planet, ramifications of crash landings...etc)
Naois walked off to his office and started to compose a letter to Valeia, including his dread of flying again with a cadet even though she had proved to be competent.
Half an hour later, Naois boarded Shuttlecraft Queen Sheba and waited for his cadet to report in. "Enter vector approach to Horus," he instructed, "ask for clearance to take off then set a course. We are to practice this several times and we have the entire day to do it."
(Wolf please be creative on this. You may do a few successful take offs and landings from Horus, but I want you to do a crashland as well inthe same post. Please be elaborate on what you see, feel etc. Also please pick up on Naois' apprehension on flying with a cadet. He is Vulcan, but given his last experience, his fear is quite evident.)
Sharon watched Naois walked into the simulator and wrinkled his nose against the smoke that was building up inside. "Congratulations," he stated coolly, "you have just managed to wreck the simulator. Since it now has to be repaired, Admiral O'Shasserra wants me to take you out in an actual shuttle."
"Yes Sir." She said.
This time he shuddered visibly at the very thought of flying an actual shuttle. "We are ordered to set course to Horus, a daemon class planet not too far from here. You will be practicing atmospheric entering and landing on hostile soil. You will use the experience you have gained in your two most recent simulations."
Sharon noticed the vulcan shudder and noted that he was not to crazy about flying in a shuttle with her. She would show him that she was a professional and could fly with the best of them.
"Captain one question if i may?" She asked.
He nodded.
"I believe demon class is what you are referring to, demon class planets are very inhospitable to human life. The temperatures on the planet reach 500 kelvin, doing a crash landing on a demon class planet is suicide are you positive this is what the admiral wants?" Sharon asked.
He handed her a PADD with information, then walked off, only to turn back to face her when he had reached the doors. "Report to shuttle bay two in thirty minutes. You may wish to bring survival gear, just in case."
Naois walked off to his office and started to compose a letter to Valeia, including his dread of flying again with a cadet even though she had proved to be competent.
Sharon nodded. 'Yes sir." She said.
She left the simulator and headed to the quartermasters office and was greeted by a Lieutenant.
"May i help you cadet?" She asked.
"Yes Lieutenant. I need survival gear for demon class planet. Shuttle mission." She said handing the padd to the Lieutenant.
Half an hour later, Naois boarded Shuttle craft Queen Sheba and waited for his cadet to report in. "Enter vector approach to Horus," he instructed, "ask for clearance to take off then set a course. We are to practice this several times and we have the entire day to do it."
She received what she needed and headed to shuttle bay two and found the queen sheba and entered. The commadant was waiting and she gave him a warm smile. She sat down and went through the warm up routine for the shuttle and when set she tapped the communication button.
"Shuttle queen sheba to space control, permission to depart." She said.
"Permission granted." Came the voice.
She applied thrusters gradually and the shuttle lifted, she turned the nose and headed directly out. and up to wards the atmosphere. Once outside of earth atmosphere she engaged impulse engines and set the heading from the padd. It wasn't to far from here, so she set a heading of 212 mark 5 and tapped execute. The shuttle headed out passing Through space lanes.
Sharon gave the padd a look over, the demon class planet is a y class, rock terrain, mountains, minimal life possibly just microorganisms. The mountains could reach a height of 20 feet, the temperature on horus during the day reached temperatures of 500 degrees kelvin and at night 450. Atmosphere conditions are dangerous to holding a decent orbit,
"Captain, from what i have read on the padd, its just like i thought, we try and crash land on the horus neither of us may survive." She said.
The captain did not say much, she knew he was scared and could feel it something else she noticed about him, he was quite handsome for a Vulcan she wondered if he was married and had children.
They finally came up on horus and Sharon entered a high orbit, the shuttle bucked a bit, so she took the shuttle in and it still bucked a bit, she looked for a firm place to land the shuttle and landed without error and shutdown the engines. She went back Through the startup routine, she also felt the intense heat from outside but they had already changed into their spacesuits on their way. The shuttle lifted off and went back out the atmosphere. She completed one orbit and did the same again, landed the shuttle, shut down the engines then left again.
They did two orbits this time and went in through the atmosphere in a different location the turbulence was bad and the shuttle shook, she kept an eye on the readings and they lost computer control, she took over on manual control and she fought with the the bucking shuttle, she could see fear in the vulcans face, as they descended. The system's went out, she was flying blind, the shuttle was going down and nothing she could do to stop it.
"Captain brace for impact." She said over the roar.
The shuttle slammed hard into the ground and sparks flew. Sharon's head hit the main board, she fought to stay awake as the shuttle came to a stop and darkness fell on her.
The shuttle rocked violently, and Naois was very grateful once again for the seatbelts that were holding him secure in his seat. His cadet was trying her best to keep the shuttle from going down too fast, but she was failing. He knew there was no fault in her for this, she was doing her best and he had ordered her to perform crash-landings.
Yet, the shuttle was out of control, the atmosphere too hostile for the small shuttle to operate properly when the storm hit. His knuckles turned a yellowish-white as he held on to his console for dear life, his face drained of all colour as the shuttle spiraled down. He tried to help her, but even as he reached for his console, the board went dark.
"Brace for impact." The words barely registered as his gaze was fxed on the screen. The soil was coming up to meet them fast, but in a last attempt, Wolf managed to righten the shuttle. Naois braced for impact as he was told to do, his sensitive hearing picking up the noise of tearing plates as the shuttle slammed hard into the ground a final time.
He saw Wolf fly forward out of her seat, but that was the last he saw when he too was flung forwards, the straps tearing on the strain of the impact. He felt the shuttle roll a few times, equipment coming loose from the walls and bounding like free projectiles through the compartment. Then there was silence, eerie silence.
After several minutes, Naois opened his eyes and found himself buried under debris and unable to move. Something heavy was pressing down on his chest and he was having trouble breathing. The freshly healed injuries in his leg and arm had started to bleed once more and he knew his leg was broken again."Sharon?" he managed to call, coughing against the smoke that filled the compartment. The shuttle, fortunately, was still intact, so they would be safe against Horus' harsh environment. "Sharon, report!" he called, raising his voice, before succumbing to another coughing fit.
Sharon felt the shuttle flip and woke up to coughing and her name being called. She looked around and found she could move, she felt Through all her sensations and new she had broken ribs by a audible grunt and pain she felt in her side.
"Sharon?" he managed to call, coughing against the smoke that filled the compartment. The shuttle, fortunately, was still intact, so they would be safe against Horus' harsh environment. "Sharon, report!" he called, raising his voice, before succumbing to another coughing fit.
"Yes captain, I'm here barely, what a ride." She said.
He grunted at her joke, she knew from the grunt and the coughing. She sat up and felt wetness on her forehead and brought a hand back covered in blood which was not a good thing. She unbuckled her seatbelt and found him under a pile of stuff. luckily they still had light so she could see him.
"Captain, you look as bad as i feel lets see if i can move some of this stuff."She said.
She managed to clear out the debris covering him and helped him out more into the open so she could tend to him better. She left him and went aft and found the emergency medical pack. She opened it and nothing was damaged and opened the tricorder. She returned with the pack and ran the tricorder over him.
"Captain, you have internal injuries, broken ribs, possible concussion, broken leg as well." Sharon said.
She listened to him and went to the console and tapped the emergency locater beacon and it went live. Most of the systems were red lined and she did not want to go outside to find out the extent of damage to the shuttle, she just hoped someone would pick up their emergency beacon. She turned the tricorder on herself and found she had broken ribs and a concussion.
"It seems you got the worse of it captain, i just have broken ribs and a concussion, and i know how i received both of them, damn i thought seat belts were supposed to protect you not have you hit the main panel a hundred times. I activated the emergency beacon hopefully a ship in this area pick it up." Sharon said.
OOC: This character is Captain Mercy's Chief Flight Instructor ...
IC:
Mike had returned from Risa the day before, but he wasn't actually due on duty until after the weekend .. He'd unpacked and was, in his favorite words, 'Bored out of his skull' ...
After showering and getting some rest, he decided to head down to Flight Ops .. He knew that the Commandant had just recovered from an accident while training a Cadet ... His taking Cadets out personally, was a regular thing, even when Mike was available, Naois always liked to do a certain amount of the training 'first-hand' as he put it .. Which was a good thing, as it gave Rampton time to get his paperwork in order ..
Entering Ops, he immediately noticed the air if tension in the massive room. People were checking boards, going over communications .. Something was wrong ...
Walking over to Jen Collins, the duty Flight Controller, he waited for her to finish speaking, well, issuing orders, in her usual calm manner, then said 'Hello' ..
"Ahh .. Erm .. Mike .. You wasn't due back in yet .." she said, suddenly flustered.
"Whats going on Jen. Where's the Captain ?"
She instantly became one hundred percent efficient, moving aside so Rampton could see the large Flight Ops board. It showed every training flight, as well as every ship within a light year of SBR .. The one thing he didn't want to see, was the flashing red icon ... He looked at Jen in silence, knowing what she was about to say, but waiting for it anyway ..
"It's the Captain's training flight. He's out with Cadet Wolf. Sharon Wolf. They were going to be running through 'crash-landing' scenarios. But ...."
"But what !" Rampton said, frustrated at how long all this was taking.
"They're overdue .... We have also lost communication with their shuttle ... It happens with the Captain now and then. As you know he's fond of making things 'difficult' for new Cadets." she finished, almost apologetically.
"How long !" he asked urgently, Wondering where, and how his friend and mentor was, almost yelling at Lieutenant Collins as she glanced at the chronometer on her console ...
"Eight hours forty seven minutes." she replied.
"OK .. How close are the search teams ?" watching her eyes widen, he feared the worst ..
"HOW CLOSE JEN !" he asked again after getting no reply the first time of asking.
"We ... We haven't sent out a searc ......"
"WHAT !. They could be injured. DEAD !. What the hell are you playi ......"
"DON'T yell at me ... Commander !" Jen said through clenched teeth, "You. More than anyone else knows he does this kind of thing ALL the time. I was about to send shuttles out to look for the Queen Sheeba when you walked in. But now YOU are here ......" she finished, angry, but ashamed at her un-professional outburst. Mike could see it too. He placed his hand on her shoulder reassuringly ..
"Find out what Star ships we have docked at the moment. Prep the three fastest shuttles we have too. Send all the flight data to everyone that can help." he said, throwing his coat on a nearby console, 'so much for my few days off' he thought, tapping his Comms badge ...
=^= Commander Rampton to Admiral O'Shasserra =^= ..........
OOC: Cptn Mercy, Cadet Wolf .. Please continue your thread .. You will obviously have no idea that a search & rescue has been organized .. OK .. Cmdr Rampton.
Being moved was excruciating and pain lanced through his body even as his cadet helped him move as carefully as possible. The air needed to be vented, as breathing smoke would surely be the death of both of them. He watched Wolf move off with a hint of fear; he didn't want to be left alone. Not again.
He listened as she moved about, then came back and gave him the words he'd been dreading. Broken leg, ribs, internal bleedings and a concussion. Yes, that would amount for the extend of pain he was experiencing. It also meant he wasn't going anywhere and would be unable to assist in effecting repairs.
"Sharon.." She moved instantly to his side, an expression of agony and fear on her own face. He reached for her, taking her hand into his. "You need to vent the smoke.." He coughed again, wincing visibly. "I cannot breathe..." She moved off, and the air seemed to clear. "Well done," he breathed, "now assess the extend of the damage. Find the spacesuit, go outside and see if we can still make her fly."
Naois struggled himself up in a sitting position, knowing full well that it would do more damage than good. If he had internal bleedings, the best position would be to lie down. He suppressed a cry of pain as he sat up and his thoughts went to Valeia even as he sagged back in resignation. "We must get the Sheba into space again," he insisted. "Find me a way cadet Wolf..." With that he lapsed back into unconsciousness.
Sharon got up at the commandants request and ventilated the shuttle of the smoke and it quickly cleared, she was worried about the commandant and went back over to him.
He grasped her hand which seemed unusual for a Vulcan and she held it, while he asked her to go outside and see if it would be possible to make the shuttle fly again, she hated to leave him but when he lapsed into unconsciousness and released her hand she moved.
Sharon went aft and found a spacesuit, she put it on over her uniform, placed the helmet on and sealed it and received all green lights and felt the oxygen level normalize. She walked to the door on the side and pressed it to cycle, it would not so she pushed manual over ride and the door opened. She stepped outside and took a look around, the damage was extensive but depending on the shuttles systems it may still be flight worthy. She walked around and found no hull ruptures but the engines had taken a beating. She went back and opened The door and reentered the cabin and closed the door back. She felt the recycle and the system in the suit told her the atmosphere in the shuttle was fine. She released the clamps and took off the helmet and breathed air.
Sharon walked over to the commandant and checked for a pulse, he stirred.
"Shh, its OK. The shuttle maybe space worthy, i wont know for sure till i run a diagnostic on the ship systems. I wont leave you, i am right here." Sharon said.
Sharon got up and walked over to her seat and started a diagnostic routine on the shuttles main systems. What came back was not great but it was workable. The shuttles warp engines were basically fried but impulse was possible, and in the commandants state the sooner they could get off this rock the better. She ran the start up routine and pressurized the cabin and brought the thrusters on line, the shuttle lifted teetered slightly and gained altitude The shuttle slowly made its way to the atmosphere, just as it broke the atmosphere the communications light beeped she tapped it.
"USS Tolstoy to shuttle Sheba we have received your emergency beacon we will be there in fifteen minutes." The voice said.
"Shuttle Sheba to Tolstoy i have gained altitude and currently leaving the planets pull, if you could send me coordinates and i will rendezvous with you in 10. I have a injured captain who is in desperate need of medical attention." Sharon said.
"Sheba we will meet you at 221 mark 5 and we will have sickbay ready." The voice said.
"Yes sir see you soon Tolstoy." Sharon said.
The shuttle managed half impulse and she changed course and within ten minutes the Tolstoy was coming into sensor range. The commandant woke briefly and went back to sleep She felt the pull of the tractor beam as the Tolstoy came in range. Sharon shut down the engines and felt the transporter beam envelop her and was in sickbay.
Tolstoy: Sickbay,
She looked around and a nurse came over and the EMH she recognized.
"Lay down cadet, so we can tend to your injuries." The nurse said.
She laid back on the biobed and saw the Dr working on the commandant, the nurse and the EMH ran a tricorder over her.
"Broken ribs, concussion, sprained ankle bruised sternum, many lacerations and contusions, you are lucky cadet. I will give you something for the pain and it will help you sleep." The EMH said.
Sharon felt the hypo and drifted off to sleep worried about the commandant.
While she drifted to sleep, Naois propped himself up on his elbows and watched Donolly with interest as his old friend approached. "End program," said Donolly and the scene was replaced by the holodeck's black and white grid. "I knew you wouldn't actually take that shuttle out," he said, "but O'shasserra isn't too pleased with you doing this. I'm to patch you up, because you actually did break a rib or two, but all the rest was the holodeck feigning the injuries, and you played the part well."
The old man shone a light in Naois' eyes and the Vulcan squinted in return. "Yes, I was not going to take her to a demon class planet for real. She did well though, despite crashing us, but that was beyond her control." He swung his legs over the edge of the stretcher and sat up. In a semi-fluent motion, he got to his feet and walked over to his cadet.
"Cadet Wolf, you have passed this test," he told her, "when you feel rested, we are going on an actual flight. Not to a demon class planet but to a nearby moon that has a very low gravity field. I will see you take a few landings, including tricky crater ones."
He looked down on her with a smile and gently squeezed her shoulder. "You did well cadet, despite me tricking you into thinking this was real. You have a few hours to get rested, then I have you beamed to the real Queen Sheba."
(Wolf, have a little rest, report in and take us out. Be creative on the scenario as before. You're doing great now, keep it up!)
Mike had watched the scenario playing out from flight operations .. He knew full well that Captain Mercy was 'prone' to doing things that were unorthodox. But removing the safety protocols while in the holo-deck, was one of his bosses' more reckless acts ..
Rampton had told his CO, on several occasions, that it wasn't right, inviting a fatality, once even threatening to take the issue to Admiral O'Shasserra ..
Running from Ops to the Academy holo-deck, he arrived just as Naois and Cadet Wolf were being helped out of the now de-activated suite .. He could well imagine what the Commandant, and Cadet Wolf had seen as they crashed ..
As the two injured were taken to the bases Medical Center, Mike looked round the now empty holo-deck .. He was a little puzzled as to why, even in a holo-suite, Naois would allow himself to be put in such danger ..
"Computer .. Re-activate last program."
The room changed instantly .. It was now the hanger-bay of Resurrection ..
"Advance program .. One minute before the crash scene."
The computer obliged, switching the scene to a moment before it all started to go wrong .. Making him nauseous for a second at the scene change ..
"Run program." ...
He watched as the shuttle, buffeted by the atmosphere, couldn't stay flying, it was obvious, even from his stand point, that Mercy could have ended the program with a single command .. But he didn't .. That worried Rampton ...
After re-playing the crash scene several times, he sealed the program .. No-one, not even the Commandant, could run it now, without Mikes access code .. Then he left the holo-suite and headed for Flight ops ..........
Sharon woke up and was in sickbay recovering, the nurse came over.
"Hello cadet, how are you feeling?" She asked.
"Outside of needing something to drink, i feel pretty good and well rested, how long have I been asleep?" She asked.
The nurse turned and looked at the chronometer on the wall and turned back.
"4 hours give or take, let me get you some water and if you feel up to it you can try getting up." She said.
The nurse left and returned with a cup of water which Sharon took and drank it the contents were cold and felt good. She handed the empty cup back and sat up moving her legs over the side of the biobed, she felt a little stiff from laying down but gradually slipped off the table and stood there for a minute the nurse right there just in case she fell. Sharon took a step and another.
"OK, I'm good, could you direct me to the facilities please?" She asked.
The nurse pointed her in the right direction and found it, using it and found she had started her period while she slept, luckily the bathroom was well stocked so she took care of that problem but she would have to change something soon. She stepped out of the facility and the nurse was waiting on her.
"Well one other bad thing came out of this." Sharon said.
"Whats that, something the Dr should be aware of?" She asked.
"No, i started my period." She said with a grin
The nurse laughed. "That can happen anyway the commandant left this padd for you." She said handing it to Sharon.
Sharon read it and grinned, she was to meet him at the shuttle bay and they would be flying to a nearby moon and do landings and takeoffs plus some tricky crater ones as well, she had had a feeling that this trip they supposedly did to a demon class planet was not real but she would have no way of proving one way or another.
She headed to where the main shuttle bay was and found the shuttle Sheba, she pushed open and no one was inside, a Lieutenant approached.
"Can i help you cadet?" He asked.
"I'm supposed to meet Commandant Mercy here and i don't see him." She said.
"Ah you must be cadet Wolf." He said
The Lt contacted the commandant and he was on his way, Sharon went ahead and went inside and took a seat, running the startup routine. The door opened and the commandant entered and took a seat.
"Commandant, i see you are well." Sharon said with a smile.
Sharon nodded at his answer and she tapped the on board communications.
"Shuttle Sheba to space dock control permission to disembark?" She asked.
"Permission granted and good luck." The voice said.
Sharon added the thrusters and the shuttle lifted and they headed out. They headed out of the atmosphere and and headed to a nearby moon. Sharon piloted the controls and landed the shuttle without a problem the low gravity was difficult but not impossible just a matter of making adjustments or you will bounce. She repeated this several times, then the commandant directed her to one of the nearby craters. It was large enough to fit several shuttles in. She took the shuttle in and made adjustments for the changes in the gravity well.
ooc: miss wolf, we are an PG13 RPG. Please refrain from mentioning 'periods' in the future as we have young folk reading tis board even when they are not a member. thank you.
ic: Naois watched his cadet work with increasing approval and gradually he relaxed as he gave complete control of the shuttlecraft over to her. He was still apprehensive, even after their last crash which had been on a holodeck.
During their flight, the Vulcan continued to make notes on a PADD, and after a few hours, ordered Wolf to set course back to Resurrection. "You do not need to land yourself, let Starbase Flight Control take us in. Commander Rampton will be on duty, he will guide you."
A few hours later still, Naois called Wolf back into his office and leaned back to regard her with interest. "You proved yourself adequately," he told her with a hint of admiration, "and your next assignment will be very pleased to have you. You have not managed to help me avert my fear of flying with cadets, but you have helped me become a little comfortable along a flight."
Naois held out a PADD to her and an old fashioned paper scroll. "Ensign Wolf, congratulations upon your graduation. Your next assignment is the USS Dark Phoenix, which is en rout back to Resurrection. When she docs, report in to Commodore Brahms."
ooc: Sorry about that but was not sure.
Sharon watched Naois take notes and the stations flight control took over control of the shuttle and they flew on in silence. she watched the stars go by and was hoping she did well. They landed finally and they split without much of a word until he called her back to his office.
A few hours later still, Naois called Wolf back into his office and leaned back to regard her with interest. "You proved yourself adequately," he told her with a hint of admiration, "and your next assignment will be very pleased to have you. You have not managed to help me avert my fear of flying with cadets, but you have helped me become a little comfortable along a flight."
"Thank you sir. I was scared at first but felt comfortable finally." She said.
Naois held out a PADD to her and an old fashioned paper scroll. "Ensign Wolf, congratulations upon your graduation. Your next assignment is the USS Dark Phoenix, which is en route back to Resurrection. When she docks, report in to Commodore Brahms."
Sharon smiled and looked at the scroll and held up her hand in the vulcan salute.
"Thank you commandant, Peace and long life to you." She said.
